EV's are a useful transition to the future we all want - one without cars. We need time to build out (and invest in) the infrastructure. We are better of with EV's and solar power in that interim period than fossil fuels.

Another major factor you didn't really talk about is that our cities just become more friendly and livable without cars. Cities currently are designed around the car, not people. That's what I look forward to - a livable city of walking, scooters, hyperloop, light rail etc
