I wonder if this is a phenomena only in the US? In most countries, companies take care of their workers, operate less working hours and generally have a healthy work-life balance. Many Americans seem to take pride in working 80-hr weeks with 2 weeks of PTO, so companies know they can get away with terrible work conditions. Maybe we're all finally rebelling against that.
