I'm in San Diego, and yes, it seems like every 4th car is a Tesla. If it wasn't clear from the article, I love my Model 3. I'm not saying all Tesla owners are strange (obviously) but much of the ones I've met at superchargers or on online groups exhibit the behaviors I described.
