It's funny to read "this time it really is the end of the world" month after month, year after year. Humans have been saying this for over 1000 years, and yet on almost every metric, the world gets better. It feels bad because there are so many doom and gloom oracles out there. But look at metrics like poverty, hunger, disease, life expectancy, energy production, blah blah, and these metrics improve year after year. Arguably this is the best the world has ever been.

Your measurement of the end times coming would make a survivor of events like the black death laugh. Try having a third of the population die and then talk about end times.
