Just a few facts to add here if I may:

1. Multiple trusted studies around the world have shown that over the lifetime of a vehicle, an EV is about 10x more environmentally friendly than an ICE. That's considering electricity generation, battery recycling, everything.

2. I don't think an EV makes someone go buy a car that wasn't considering one, so combined with #1, every EV purchased is 10 ICE vehicles off the road, environmentally speaking.

3. Many of us almost entirely power our EVs from our own solar installations, making them truly independent of fossil powerplants.

That said, I 100% agree that the best solution is mass transit and not cars at all. Cars are perhaps one of the worst inventions man ever made.
