This statement confuses me. My own Tesla has probably gone through almost 500 cycles and doesn't even look like it has suffered more than 2% battery degradation. Seems unlikely to me that sometime in the next year or two it will just stop working. There are 1 million mile Teslas out there. If you guess they are charging at 200 miles per charge cycle, that's around 5000 charge cycles and they're still going. I don't know as a fact, but I'm sure there are Priuses on the road from a decade ago that must have gone through >10,000 charge cycles?
